Photo tips

Clouds are a great object to photograph, especially the storm clouds, they look like huge mountains in the sky. They become great backgrounds in your photograph So next time you’re out taking photos remember to look up and check out the clouds.

If you want to get this soft effect of running water like in a creek or a river you just use a slower shutter speed. I used a shutter speed of 3/10 sec. The lower the speed will give the flowing water more blur, but you must use a tripod or brace yourself to hold the camera steady when using a slower shutter speed.

Try and look for balance and texture also in a photograph

Find interesting shapes, color and texture by just moving in on an object. I used photo editing software to increase the saturation and decrease my exposure a bit and bump up my colors.

Black & white photography is a great style to explore and can be done inside your camera or phone. The best photos for black & white is a photo with a lot of contrast -lights & darks with some midtones. Some photo editors will even let you add color to parts of the photo after you turn it to black & white.

Fall is a great time for photography. There are a lot of interesting and great colors. Try photographing a single leaf with blurred colors in the background. Take a photograph of a lake and get the reflection of all the colorful leaves in the background. Try different things, don’t be afraid to experiment.
